irst Presbyterian Church of Monroe had its Advent Music Service on December 13th. The Chancel Choir, the Hand Bell Choir, the Children’s Choir, and Union Symphony Orchestra performed a music service which featured selections such as Angel, We Have Heard on High, The First Noel, and We Three Kings. The UCYB Nutcracker
The Union County Youth Ballet, under the direction of Bonita Simpson, performed their 23rd annual holiday program, The Nutcracker, at The Batte Center, Wingate University on December 11-12. Congratulations to Bonita Simpson and the entire cast of The Nutcracker on a stellar performance!
Jazz Night After Hours…
On Friday, January 15, 2016, 5:30-10 PM, Union Symphony will host an after work party and music at The Bottle Factory (venue sponsor), located at 302 W Franklin St, Monroe, NC 28112. Cash bar, light fare by The Stone Table, and food vendors on site will be available for guests.
Live jazz entertainment by Dennis Contreras & Friends features a jazz vocalist performing classic jazz, 7-10 PM. Union Jazz will give an intro performance, 6-7 PM. In lieu of cover charge, a suggested donation of $5 will offset event costs.
