Kenneth Brown Bio PhotoFirst Presbyterian Church of Monroe, 302 E Windsor St, Monroe, NC, presents its Advent Music Service with The Chancel Choir, under the direction of Kenneth Brown, and members of the Union Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, December 13th at 10:45 AM. The Chancel Choir will perform “What Sweeter Music” and USO ensemble with Handbell Choir will perform selections such as The First Noel and We Three Kings.





Winter Songs

Central United Methodist Church of Monroe had their annual Community Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 6th. A community chorus, Union Symphony Orchestra’s Brass and Percussion, Central’s hand bell choir, and Allegro Strings performed festive repertoire from a traditional Christmas Carol medley and selections from Sir Jonathan Willcock’s Magnificat. Program soprano soloist was Vicki Bivens. The program was conducted by James O’Dell, Central’s Music Director.

Tribute Gifts

The Union Symphony invites you to honor or remember a loved one with a gift to the symphony. The family will receive acknowledgment of your gift and it will be listed in concert programs. We are offering a holiday subscription for $35 and $30 seniors/students. Purchase tickets. 




A Cause for Tea

christmas-tea-menu-2015-graphicUnion Symphony Orchestra’s Alicia Bowen, violin, and Mary Sinski, cellist, will perform for Christmas Tea at Swan Manor on December 12th from 3-7 PM. Union Symphony Youth Orchestra Members, The Gaynier Family consisting of Stephen, Isaiah, Joseph, and Isaac, will perform as well. To learn more about A Cause for Tea or to support this cause, visit
