Magical, Dreamy, Fantastical…

The 25th Anniversary Production of The Nutcracker was an unprecedented thrill for all. The Union County Youth Ballet, with live music by Union Symphony Orchestra, performed the The Nutcracker on December 8–9 at The Batte Center.
All six performances were to sold out audiences and received standing ovations. Bonita Simpson, artistic director of Union County Youth Ballet was heralded for her many years of service to the arts in this community. The USO live music for two of the performances was provided by the Nutcracker Open Golf Tournament. Thank you Nutcracker Open sponsors! (See sponsors.)

A worshipful celebration was held at First Presbyterian Church, Monroe on Sunday, December 10. Under the direction of Dy-Ann Sturgis, Union Symphony Chamber Orchestra with the Chancel Choir presented a special Advent performance. The Ladies Ensemble and The Children’s Choir each performed a selection.

“Thank you to everyone who had a part in our music program at First Presbyterian Church, Monroe this past Sunday. From the children, to the Handbell Choir, to the Ladies Trio, to the Chancel Choir, I left our service of music feeling the warmth of Christmas and the anticipation of Jesus’ birth. A very special thank you to members of Union Symphony Orchestra for their glorious music.” Dy-Ann Sturgis, music director
