Union Symphony impressed an immense crowd on Sunday, May 18, in Pops on the Plaza in Historic Downtown Monroe. Union Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Richard Rosenberg, and Union Symphony Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Tom LaJoie, received a rousing standing ovation from the crowd in its closing number, Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. Opening entertainment was provided by Prelude Junior Strings Orchestra, under the direction of Sabrina Howard, and Union Jazz, under the direction Dennis Contreras.
