The USO presents a concert that includes three milestones of the Romantic era: Carl Maria von Weber’s overture, “Der Freischütz,” hits the mark in a battle of good versus evil, set to hunting concert and using earthy folk-tunes; Wagner’s declaration of eternal love, “Wesendonk Songs,” will be sung by the silver-voiced Ms. Karen Slack, who has sung in every major opera house; and Robert Schumann’s innovative Symphony No. 4 as seen through the eyes of another great composer, Gustav Mahler.  It is a veritable potpourri of the Romantic spirit.
